Which API key should be used for integrations?


1. For any integrations with Freshdesk such as custom apps or marketplace apps or power BI integrations, the API key of the admin will only be supported. Also ensure that the API key belongs to a full-time admin.


2. Please refer to this article to know how to find an API key and whether an agent is an admin can be figured out from Freshops,



3. Please note that we're not supposed to ask for the customer's API in any of our email interactions as it will pose a security risk.


4. If an existing admin has left the organization and if their profile is deleted from admin>>agents, then any integration that uses the API key of this user will fail and configurations of the marketplace app would be lost and cannot be restored. 


5. Logs to find out the email address of the agent using the API key,

  2. Logs will show the userid and the email address of the agent
