1. How to bulk delete contacts in Freshdesk?


Resolution Path:


When a customer enquires about bulk deleting the contacts from their Freshdesk account, we can share the below impacts with them and guide them accordingly:


-> Share the differences between soft deletion and hard deletion of contacts in Freshdesk. You can share this link with them.

-> If the customer still wants to bulk delete contacts from Freshdesk after going through the impacts, you can suggest them navigate to the Contacts tab, choose the contacts they wish to delete, and click on the Delete button. Screenshot for reference:



-> An alert message will be prompted (displayed above) and once the customer clicks on the Confirm button, the selected contacts will be soft-deleted and all the future tickets raised by them will land in the Spam folder inside Freshdesk.

-> The customer can see the list of deleted contacts by navigating to the Contacts tab, clicking on the button with 3 horizontal lines on the top left corner of the screen and choosing the Deleted Contacts view. Adding a sample screenshot for reference:


Alternatively, the customer can also execute a script with the help of their developers' assistance and trigger the Soft delete contact API call or hard delete contact API call to bulk delete contacts.
