Once you sign up for a new Freshdesk account and add a support email address, it is imperative to verify and activate it. By verifying the email address, secure your account and keep it active to receive tickets in Freshdesk.
If you are using a custom email server, please follow the below steps to verify your support email.
Login to your Freshdesk account as an administrator.
Navigate to Admin from the menu. Under Channels, click on Email.
Click on the Verify button corresponding to the email address you wish to activate.
Freshdesk will send an activation link to your mailbox. Click on the link to activate and verify your email.
If you are using a Freshdesk email server, please follow the below steps to verify your support email.
Login to your Freshdesk account as an administrator.
Navigate to Admin from the menu. Under Channels, click on Email.
Click on the Verify button corresponding to the email address you wish to activate.
Click on the Copy button from the pop-up window to copy the forwarding address.
Sign in to your mailbox. Suppose you use Gmail, then go to Settings -> Forwarding and POP/IMAP, and paste the copied email as a forwarding address.
Go back to your Freshdesk account and click on the Next button.
Copy the activation code you receive on the next screen.
Paste the code into your mailbox settings page, select the "Forward a copy of incoming email to" option, and click on Save.
In your Freshdesk account, click on the Next and Finish buttons.
You will receive a test email from Freshdesk with the sender as Rachel Doe.
Once the verification is complete, the Verify button next to your support email will turn green, indicating that your support email is verified and ready to create tickets in Freshdesk.
